Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento, the Coloma Country Inn provides the perfect setting for an exciting family adventure or romantic getaway for two.

A charming 1852 country inn on five acres with formal gardens and pond, it is one of the oldest surviving structures inside the 300-acre Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park and just two blocks to Sutter's Mill and the American River.

Stroll or cycle through the historic village, go whitewater rafting, or hike the picturesque trails. The inn is available for garden parties, Victorian teas, and country weddings.

Inn Amenities: Each of the six rooms features turn-of-the-century antiques, handmade quilts, and fresh flowers. You'll enjoy winding brick paths, a heritage rose garden, fruit trees, 1/2-acre pond, and old fashioned cottage. Weather permitting, breakfast is served under the pergola overlooking the pond.

Nearby Amenities: When you visit the Inn, you can explore Marshall Gold Discovery State Park on foot or by horse-drawn carriage. Cottage Suite ~ One bedroom suite with queen-size bed, sitting/living room area, daybed with trundle that makes into two standard twin beds or optionally as a king, wicker furniture, kitchenette, private brick courtyard, bath with stall shower. Perfect for a family travelling with children. $240

Directions:

From Sacramento:
Take Hwy. 50 east. After you pass Cameron Park, take the Ponderosa Road (Shingle Springs) offramp and turn left over the freeway. Immediately turn right on North Shingle Road and go north roughly eight miles to a fork in the road. Take the left fork (Lotus Road), which deadends at Hwy. 49. Turn right on Hwy 49 and immediately enter the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. After 3/4 mile, turn right on Brewery Street, opposite the Coloma Post Office and left on Back Street. Follow it up the hill to the Coloma Country Inn at 345 High Street.

From Lake Tahoe:
Take Hwy. 50 west for 40 miles to Placerville. Turn right onto Hwy. 49 (Spring Street). Go 8 miles to Coloma. Enter the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Turn left on Brewery Street (opposite the Coloma Post Office) and left on Back Street and follow it up the hill to the Coloma Country Inn at 345 High Street.
