Historic B&B Inn • Events • Gifts Nestled in the heart of Fair Play wine country is the Historic Barkley Homestead. Accommodations include a quaint lake house with three bedrooms and a 19th century lodge with three additional bedrooms.
Adjacent to the lodge is the Charles B. Mitchell Vineyards. The 67-acre estate harbors seasonal creeks for gold panning, fern grottos, miles of hiking trails, pedal and paddleboating, fishing, horseshoes, and a regulation night-lit bocce ball court. The year-round Indoor Events Center is located in the Main House. It features an open beam ceiling, grand fireplace, romantic lighting, french doors leading to a large sun deck, and sweeping views overlooking vineyards, the pond, and manicured grounds. Formal seating can accommodate 75 of your invited guests. The Main House, a 3000 square foot lodge, was built in 1915 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its turn of the century charm and pioneer spirit makes this beautiful homestead is an ideal location for weddings, anniversaries, reunions, retreats, meetings, luncheons, and other events. A welcoming bottle of wine, private baths, luxurious robes, romance and adventure await our guests.
The Gardener's Room - Our most private secluded room. With its queen bed, large private bath, french doors leading to a private patio, secluded private entrance, and views of the pond and terraced lawn area, you can truly escape to your own private paradise. The Sewing Room - Located inside the Main House, this room is full of turn of the century charm. It features quilted wall hangings, country-style antiques, a queen bed and private bath.
The Winemaker's Retreat - This large and comfortable room has a king bed, a large private bathtub and shower, french doors leading to a private deck, and views of the pond and terraced lawn area. A favorite room for a romantic weekend. The Lake House was built long after the main house and boasts its own history and charm. The house can be rented as a package or with two adjoining rooms.
The Ladies Room - The Ladies Room offers a king bed, large private bath, seating area, french doors leading to a private patio, views of the pond and terraced lawn area, and separate kitchen. Soothing colors and delicate fabrics accent this romantic room. The Gentleman's Quarters - Old West charm at its finest! This suite features a king bed, private living room wood burning stove and large seating area, french doors leading to a private deck, and views of the pond and terraced lawn area.
The Patriot's Room - Queen bed, private bath, private entrance. Come feel the pride of freedom in this quaint room. Rooms & Daily Rates: The Barkley Homestead offers 6 rooms at $95 to $175 per day. Discounts for weekday and two-night stays are available. A full breakfast is included each morning. |
